Many buyers have a wrong understanding of the length of wire thread insert.

for example, In fact
M6*1.0*2D ≠ 6mm*2=12mm
M6*1.0*3D ≠ 6mm*3=18mm

M6*1.0*2D
M6*1.0,indicates that the internal thread after installation is M6*1.0
2D, indicating that the minimum depth of the mounting hole is 2D=6mm*2=12mm

After drilling, you need to use tap ST6*1.0 to process the thread. Because the tap has a taper, the thread in the hole is less than 12mm, so the actual length of the wire thread insert before or after installation are both less than 12mm

The actual length of the wire thread insert after installation = the number of turns of the wire thread insert W * the pitch P
The actual length of M6*1.0*2D after installation is about 9.6*1.0=9.6mm

Minimum depth of the mounting hole is 2D=8mm*2=16mm
the number of turns of the wire thread insert W=10.6, the pitch P=1.25
After installation, the length is about =10.6*1.25=13.25mm
